I've been "blah" about blogging! That's the honest truth. For those of us over 50 we probably remember the day's of diaries and the little key's which we usually lost and then couldn't open them, and would hope that no one else in the family would find the key before we would. We would die if someone opened it to read the silly things we would write about.
Today they call it blogging, that doesn't even rhyme with diary.....
I am such a private person, I rarely talk to anyone about my insignificant day, the thought of trying to "blog" about anything about my life or about my day never crossed my mind! Mainly because there are day's when nothing crosses my mind and if it did and it was important I wouldn't remember it anyway...now that's a good reason to report to yourself everyday, you won't remember it tomorrow.
It's not that I think I don't have an interesting life.....it's that I never thought about jotting down the things that were interesting, or even the things that aren't...
Like, how adorable my grandbaby Silas is and how much joy he brings to our whole family on a daily basis, I could go on and on about him, or how when watering my grass and coming across a snake...and not being afraid, Iv'e suddenly realized...I'm bigger than he is, or how excited I was over seeing this new little bird in the bushes, and rushing to look him up in my bird book, and how much I enjoyed working in my herb garden and how sore to the bones I was when I finished, and how much like my mother I am...and how funny my daughter thinks it is. You know blah, blah, blah...
Then my daughter said something that helped me change my mindset. She said, 'your blog is like a documentary about your life', she said, 'you can copy your posts Mom and put them in a note book and be albe to look back on them one day'. Now that was something I could relate to, paper and notebooks. I have quite the collection of journals...paper in notebooks.
So, I thought I would give it a try.
She fixed me up, gave me a quick lesson, and I mean quick. I have to listen really hard when my adult children talk to me and try to explain things in their technical terms.
I just figured out how to text, do videos on my phone and listen to a podcast. I'm not trying to sound out of touch, but it just seems like yesterday when I loved to go to the store by myself, it would be nice and quiet and no one could reach me, now I wouldn't think of leaving home without my phone, when I refused to learn how to work the home computer we had, what a dinosaur, those horrible green letters.... and when my camera was easy to work...one click...and I got the picture right then.
Ahh yes, life seemed much simpler then; and now, well I suppose this will seem simple to me to after a few posts and they won't be able to get me off of here. They'll look at my posts and think Oh Mom, blah, blah, blah!

Silas' first Halloween
Every year our family goes to the local Pumpkin Patch to get pictures taken. This year, of course, was all about one little punkin!
Grammy and her punkin!

The greatest invention ever
My daughter introduced me to baby slings. Wow! Where were these things when I had my kids?
I so love carrying Silas in it. It allows me to carry him close to me, but have my hands free.
